AI By The Numbers
**$2.5 trillion**
That's what the world will spend on AI this year alone. To put that in context, it's more than the cost of the Apollo programme, the Manhattan Project, and the entire US interstate highway system combined.
But here's the number that should really get your attention.
According to PwC's latest AI Performance study, three-quarters of AI's economic gains are being captured by just 20% of companies. The leading firms aren't just using AI they're two to three times more likely than their peers to use it to reinvent their business model entirely.
The gap isn't between companies that use AI and those that don't. It's between companies that integrate it strategically and those that bolt it on as an afterthought.
The question for every business leader right now isn't "should we adopt AI?" it's "are we in the 20% or the 80%?"
